Become a Member


Full voting memberships shall be open to all persons, 18 
years of age or older, who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club, and 
who own at least one Yorkshire Terrier at the time of application, who subscribe to the purposes of this Club and who agree not to exploit their membership in the Club.

While membership is to be unrestricted as to residence, the Club’s primary purpose is 
to be representative of the breeders and exhibitors in this immediate area, the Ohio 

There shall be two types of membership:

  • Single – Enjoys all privileges of the Club including voting and holding office.
  • Spousal – Open to husband and wife with each enjoying all privileges of the 
    including voting and holding office.


Annual membership dues shall be as follows:

  • Single membership – $10.00
  • Husband & Wife – $15.00

These dues shall be payable on or before the first day of October of each year. No member may vote whose dues are not paid for the current fiscal year. During the 
month of August, the treasurer shall send to each member a statement of his dues for 
the ensuing year.

Election to Membership

Each applicant for membership shall apply on a 
form as approved by the Board of Directors and which shall provide that the applicant 
agrees to abide by the constitution and bylaws and the rules of the American Kennel 

The application shall state the name and address of the applicant and it shall 
carry the endorsement of two members in good standing, one of which has known applicant two (2) years. Accompanying the application, the prospective applicant shall 
submit dues payment for the current year. Sponsorship of new applicants by present 
members shall be limited to five (5) applicants in one year.

All applications are to be filed with the Membership Chairperson, and each application 
is to be read at the first meeting of the Club following its receipt. At the next Club 
meeting the application will be voted upon by secret ballot. An affirmative vote of 2/3 of 
the members present and voting at that meeting shall be required to elect the 
applicant. Applicant shall leave the room at the time the voting takes place.

Applicants for membership who have been rejected by the Club may not reapply within six months after such rejection.
